# Activity log

The activity log lists every change made inside a team, who made it and when, so its members can see how the ledger reached the state it is in. The activity log needs [Pro](https://contamos.xyz/en#pricing).

## What is recorded

Every time something in the team is created, changed or deleted, the log records what changed, from what and to what:

- transactions and transfers, and the tags on them;
- accounts, and the currencies added to or removed from them;
- tags, budgets and recurring rules;
- invitations, members joining or leaving, and role changes;
- the team's name and handle, and its subscription.

Changes made together, such as a transfer with its two sides and its fees, are grouped into one entry. Transactions recorded by a recurring rule appear like any other. Changes made through an [AI assistant](https://contamos.xyz/en/docs/ai-assistants) name the assistant that made them.

## Reading the log

Open **Activity** in the sidebar. Filter the list by **Record** to see only one kind of change, by **Member** to see what one person did, or by **Date**. Open an entry to see its details, with the values before and after the change.

## Who can see it

Owners and admins can see the activity log; members cannot. See [Members and roles](https://contamos.xyz/en/docs/members-and-roles).

## How far back

Entries are kept for a year, then removed.

## On the Free plan

The log keeps recording on every plan, but a Free team sees the **Activity** page locked. Moving to Pro shows everything recorded in the past year.
